Welcome.

Providing space for clients to tell their stories while holding a vision of them being well, recovered, and moving forward are essential parts of how I engage in therapy.

Kristin Reid Counseling

My areas of expertise include story work, navigating abusive relationships and systems, as well as parent coaching for those with neurodivergent kids and teens.

I have 18 years of clinical counseling experience providing compassionate and effective therapy services for individuals and families. If life's challenges are getting harder -- you're dealing with depression or anxiety, relationship challenges, or desire for general growth -- there's room for all of it. I provide space for you to get to tell your story and heal.

Areas of Expertise

Narrative Focused Trauma Therapy

Narrative focused trauma therapy, also known as "story work" is a framework developed by the Allender Center in Seattle. I am trained in helping clients to write and process their past experiences in order to heal from traumatic events as well as unhealthy relational patterns that may have developed because of them.

Because therapy isn't one size fits all, I also incorporate frameworks like Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, and Interpersonal approaches to find an eclectic, but effective way forward for my clients.

Recovering from Emotional Abuse

Therapy can provide crucial support for individuals in emotionally abusive relationships by offering a safe space to explore their feelings and experiences. I help my clients identify patterns of abuse and empower them to develop coping strategies, enhance self-esteem, and gain clarity about their situation, ultimately leading to establishing boundaries and making informed decisions about their relationship. This process helps clients reclaim their sense of self and move towards healthier, more fulfilling connections.

My approach integrates narrative, attachment, and systems-based therapy to provide comprehensive support for my clients. I am dedicated to helping individuals find healing and pursue growth in a safe and understanding environment.

"Holding space is an important and rarely discussed concept. When we hold space for someone, we bear witness to them, their stories, and their pain…

We hold the vision of the person being well, being happy, having recovered…

Having a good story to describe a person’s travails helps us to hold hands and look in the same direction.”
